Jennifer's Daybook...

 FOR TODAY...August 9, 2010
Outside my window...warm and sunny...a typical summer day...

I am thinking...my walk with the Lord...I don't think that I will ever be what I should be spiritually...or know and love the Lord as I should...oh, I want to...but until we get to Heaven, I know we will never be perfect. We will fail constantly, but you know what? Isn't it wonderful that He loves us anyway!?! He is the perfect One in our relationship with Him, if that makes sense...He is always doing things for me to prove His love, His faithfulness. It just makes me love Him more and more.

I am thankful for...the Lord's leading and guiding in our lives...I'm thankful for the blessings the Lord has given me...my salvation, HIS faithfulness, my family, my Jonathan, my church family...I don't deserve nothing that He has given me, and the more that I live the more I realize it...

Jennifer's Daybook...

 FOR TODAY...August 2, 2010
Outside my window...the sun is beginning to go down...not too hot, just right out! Beautiful day!

I am thinking...about...hmmm...well the obvious answer is Jonathan... :)...but I do have other things on my mind, too, like this post, what needs to be done, wedding plans, blueberries to bag up, need to practice some things on the piano, more posts that are running through my mind, how good God is!...so much to think about...

I am thankful for...as of tomorrow, 8 wonderful months of courtship with my Jonathan...I can never deserve the gift that the Lord gave me when He gave me Jonathan last year for Christmas when He answered that prayer, and for the Lord's guidance and protection everyday in our lives...we can never deserve salvation, but you know what? We don't even deserve the blessings He decides to send us along the way!

From the kitchen...just made supper...or rather a hour ago...Italian Tomato Pasta (ok...just made up the name...) and a salad...

I am wearing...John Deere shirt and a denim skirt...no shoes...its summer time!!!! :)

I am reading...A Wife's Purpose by Cindy Schaap published by the Sword of the Lord

I am hearing...my sisters talking...

Around the house...actually nothing much...just busy...as usual

My favorite things...hmmm...the way the sky looks at the end of summer...just the right shade of blue... the Christmas season...hearing Christmas music in the stores about October :)...riding around looking at Christmas lights...stepping outside in the cold and blowing out "smoke"...seeing the first snow..."these are a few of my favorite things"

A few plans for the rest of the week: Piano and church and cleaning and maybe some wedding planning

Jennifer's Daybook

FOR TODAY...June 7, 2010

Outside my window...nice beautiful weather...the sun is beginning to set...the temp. has been simply lovely...hardly no humidity!!!

I am thinking...about this post...about 12 more days and I will see Jonathan again!!! This time feels like the longest seperation!

I am thankful for...the Lord's goodness...and the joy of being in His will...daddy preached on that this past Sunday night...I am thankful for the Lord's directing in our lives...if we ask Him to, He definitely will!
From the kitchen...Chicken and mixed vegetables...Chinese!!!

I am going...dream...I've been doing a lot of that lately! :)...let's see...go through some recipes that a lady in our church gave us...hmmm...that's about it for tonight...

I am hearing...my sisters playing checkers! Rebekah just said, "King Me!!!" Now the phone is ringing...

Around the house...let's see...hmm...I need to get back to work on my quilt...we are getting ready for our ladies' meeting with Kay Chandler this weekend...so that will pretty much fill up my week! We have picked some string beans out of our garden twice in the last couple days! Our blueberries are turning a greenish reddish color.

Plans for the rest of the week...piano lessons, church, piano lessons, a friend's graduation that Rebekah is playing for, talking to Jonathan on the phone, emailing Jonathan... :) :) :)...the Ladies' meeting on Saturday, then the week starts all over again, but next week is so much better...because only a few days and I will see Jonathan and his family!

Chapter that I'm focusing on this week: Hebrews 13...I have just finished reading through Hebrews, and there is always certain verses that stand out in this chapter!

Let brotherly love continue.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.

Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.

Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.

Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

Grace be with you all. Amen.

What to post about....

Ever since starting this new blog, it seems as if my mind has been so many miles away (ok...ok..approximately 278 miles away). I have been thinking on different things to post about. Maybe a certain day for this or that...if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

But for today, I think maybe a daybook post will be fine! So...

For today...April 12, 2010

Outside my window...we have had wonderful very spring-like weather...of course, it is spring! :) Nice weather, the sun was shining, and it was about 80!

I am thinking about...this post, Jonathan, plans for this week, Jonathan, things I need to do around the house (like clean my closet), did I mention Jonathan!

I am so thankful for...answered prayer! I think this is what I am always thankful for...especially recently, God is very good!

From the kitchen...stir-fry with pasta instead of rice...and now, I am getting ready to try some chocolate chip cookies that Amber made...

I am hearing...my sisters talking about something on the other laptop...Bethany trying to shoo some bug off her...this is the second time she has tried to shoo it away...she moved to the other chair, but I think it followed her...hahahhaha...

Plans for the rest of the week...let's see...piano lessons tomorrow from 2-5:30, also a phone call... :) ,then on Wednes. the principal of a local Christian school asked me to substitute the K-5 class, so that's what I'll be doing from 8-12, Thursday more lessons, Friday one lesson...then next week is the week!!!!!!!

Verse I'm focusing on...Isaiah 41:20
That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

I love this verse! This is something that I want in my life..that people may see and know and consider and understand that the Lord has done these things in my life. I don't ever want to take credit for the blessings that the Lord has brought in my life. I want people to know that the Lord has brought these things to pass!

Jennifer's Daybook...

FOR TODAY...February 1, 2010

Outside my window...snow is melting and my computer says it is 46 outside...and sunny!

I am thinking...about this post...about 11 more days!

I am thankful for...the prayers that the Lord has answered in my life this past year...I was reflecting on some of them earlier today...one was when I used to work in a Christian daycare, and the lady I worked with was suing the school for an injury that she claimed happened on campus, and I was going to have to testify for the school. Praise the Lord, He worked it out, and the lady settled out of court, and I didn't have to do anything! Another special request was of course Jonathan, I will never get over the blessing the Lord brought into my life when He answered that prayer!

From the kitchen...probably pasta and a salad for supper...

I am going...to check my email :), knit on the knifty knitter (I finished one section over the weekend from being stuck indoors with the snow!), help with supper...

I am hearing...mama on the phone, daddy just came in from walking...

Around the house...let's see...nothing much going on around here...Rebekah's birthday is coming up on Sunday so we will be having her party later in the week...

Plans for the rest of the week...piano lessons, church, piano lessons, visitation, Rebekah's party (or parties, she has a way of making her birthday last for several days...hmm...I wonder how she does it?)

Verse I'm focusing on this week... Psalms 18:19

"He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me."

Aren't you glad that the Lord Jesus did not just deliver us because He had to? But He did it because He delighted in us!

Picture Thought: Here is just a small picture of a portion of my dress that I am wearing in 11 days! I actually bought it at one of those after Christmas sales! It is a red and black polka dotted top with a black skirt!

I am thankful for...6 wonderful weeks...God's goodness...my family...my church...

From the kitchen...homemade bread...mama got a new dvd by the West Ladies on breadmaking and she was trying out a recipe off of the dvd.

A Simple Woman's Daybook

Ok, I know that it is Sunday night, but we are going to be busy tomorrow! So that means that I will not be able to post my Simple Woman's Daybook, so I decided to post it tonight instead!

FOR TODAY...June 7, 2009
Outside my window...well...it's dark outside and full moon and cloudy, but today was a pleasant day, not too hot.

I am thinking...we had a great service today in church...especially tonight!

I am thankful for...blessed assurance! The Lord is so good to us...even though at times we are unfaithful, God is always faithful!

From the kitchen...I am thinking about those chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen...ever since I came home from CA, food has been so good to me! There is nothing like home cooking!

I am wearing...my dress I wore to church...It is a wrap dress with red and black, and green, and blue...

I am creating...last night about 11:00 I cut some culottes that I have to make for Youth Conference.

I am going...to be extremely busy this week! Just Friday is so busy in itself! But I'd rather have it busy than boring!

I am reading...I've been kind of lazy this week...I have been reading a devotional book by Amy Carmichael (it has helped me a lot)

I am hearing...my sisters talking...and talking!

Around the house...my sisters are sitting around and Daddy is on the other computer, and Mama is on the phone.

One of my favorite things...a milkyway...do I sound hungry? hahahha...I went for awhile and was sick last year, and didn't eat much, and I lost about 20 lbs, well if I don't watch it I'm going to gain it back. hahhahha

A few plans for the rest of the week: I have to appear in a worker's comp. court or something like that for a Christian School I worked for a year ago (some lady is suing the school about an injury)...any way, I'm not looking forward to it. Then we have our Youth Rally!

Picture thought that I am sharing...like I promised, our Marion Avenue pic! This was taken at a fort at the beach! It was very windy that day as you can see!

A Simple Woman's Daybook

I saw this on Katie's blog the other day and I thought it was a great idea to do sometimes, plus I like the little picture!

FOR TODAY...May 11, 2009

Outside my window...Its cloudy and dreary, a good day to read.

I am thinking...about checking my email, what the week holds for me, what I will have to do today.

I am thankful for...this morning I am thankful for a good nights sleep (I haven't slept well the last couple nights).

From the kitchen...I haven't ate anything yet this morning, everyone is still sleeping in our house (Monday is kind of our day of rest from everything we do on Sunday.)

I am wearing...a denim skirt and a pink polka dotted shirt.

I am creating...this post right now...but I need to work on some things for church plus I would like to sew a little today.

I am going...to fix me some coffee and find something to eat maybe.

I am reading...Edges of His Ways by Amy Carmichael and A Housewife Desperate for God. (I think that is what it is called!)

I am praying...for revival, for the Lord's will in my life, asking the Lord to have His way in every situation. (He has already answered this in many ways in the Last couple days!)

I am hearing...my stomach growl!

Around the house...everything is quiet and dim and pretty much in place.

One of my favorite things...blogging.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Getting ready for our Mother/daughter/friend banquet at church, piano lessons on Tuesday and Friday...

Picture thought that I am sharing...I am so thankful for a great Daddy and Mama. Thank you both for being there for me!

For Your Enjoyment!
