The Real Pearls

Thank you everyone for your prayers today! Everything went smoothly--Praise the Lord! Just pray that the message will stay in their hearts...

The big thing about everything in our lives is the fact that EVERYTHING must be to the honor and glory of the Lord. I Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." That is the answer for everything that goes on in our lives. God should have every part of our lives, and should run every part in our lives! I know that some people think that just because they are not called to the ministry that their heavenly Father should not have any say in their lives, the only thing that He should have control of in their lives is their spiritual life and sometimes not even that! In Colossians 1:18, it talks about the Lord having preeminence in our lives. Preeminence means foremost place. I love Psalms 37, especially the verse about delighting in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. The Lord is not going to ruin our lives if we give Him control. On the contrary, He knows best and gives His best in every aspect! There is an illustration that I love. It goes like this:

A little girl was shopping with her mama at the store one day, and she saw this beautiful pearl necklace. Of course, it was not real, but it was a beautiful false pearl necklace. Well, she saved her pennies and her birthday money, and went back to the store to buy that beautiful pearl necklace. She loved that pearl necklace and wore it every day! Every night, the little girl's daddy woudl put her to bed and tell her he loved her. Well, one night, he asked the little girl if she loved him so much that she would give him her pearls. The little girl loved her pearls so much that she would not give them up even though she loved her daddy. After several nights of her daddy asking the same question, he came in on her one night, and she was crying. She put her hand out and handed her necklace over to her daddy, and said, "Daddy, I love you more than my pearls." After her father took them from her, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a Real pearl necklace made up of the Best pearls.

When we give up our way or our plans, whether it is a career choice or something we think is best, we can trust that God will give us His best! All we have to do is surrender our best! Can you trust Him?
